Indiana Public Employees Retirement Fund, Indianapolis, may add an investment analyst and an investment compliance-custodial officer to the staff of the $9.7 billion system, said Patricia J. Gerrick, CIO. Decisions on adding the staff positions could come this month after trustees decide how to handle hiring and background checks at the fund. The system expects to have better electronic access to information about its assets as part of a custodian search now under way. "I dont know if we will have a new custodian, she said. National City Bank, the incumbent custodian, has been invited to rebid. "But we will have a new system and we will need additional staff to analyze data for compliance, performance and risk.
