Fred R. Biesecker was named interim executive director of the $11 billion Indiana Public Employees Retirement Fund, Indianapolis, confirmed Jonathan Birge, chairman. Mr. Biesecker, a law partner at Ice, Miller, will stay on until the $11 billion systems board selects a new director. The board will select a committee to oversee a search for a new executive director at its Oct. 11 meeting. Plan officials hope to have a new executive by Dec. 31.
Mr. Biesecker replaces E. William Butler, who resigned as executive director on Sept. 28. A plan official who asked not to be identified said that Mr. Butlers resignation was related to the scandal involving Walter Kevin Scott, former benefits director, who is accused of identity theft.
