Tropical Storm Isidore forced the cancellation of meetings for three Louisiana pension funds. The $375 million New Orleans Employees Retirement System postponed todays investment committee meeting, said Jerry Davis, board chairman. The $1 billion Louisiana Municipal Employees Retirement System, Baton Rouge, canceled todays scheduled board meeting, according to a spokeswoman. The $1.3 billion Louisiana Parochial Employees Retirement System, Baton Rouge, canceled two of eight scheduled regional meetings with administrators, said Thomas B. Sims, administrative director.
Officials at the $6 billion Louisiana State Employees Retirement System, Baton Rouge, said they would decide later today whether to cancel the board of trustees meeting Friday. Three of its members live in New Orleans.
The tropical storm is expected to make landfall along the Louisiana coast tonight.
