CalSTRS issued an RFP for actuarial services. The $93 billion California State Teachers' Retirement System, Sacramento, plans to write a contract for up to four years. Current actuary Milliman USA can bid.
Separately, CalSTRS re-issued an RFP for up to two advisers for its $3.6 billion domestic private equity portfolio. The fund's alternatives target has been raised to 8% of assets from 5%; the size of the total portfolio is expected to reach $11 billion by 2006, up from $4.4 billion currently.
