Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, Columbus, hired CitiStreet as record keeper for its two new defined contribution plans, which go into effect Jan. 1, said Bill Damsel, assistant director of defined contribution plans. CitiStreet also will provide specialized versions of its communications and education programs for employees who select one of the defined contribution plans. The system currently offers a $50 billion pension plan.
Ohio State Teachers Retirement System, Columbus, hired Barclays Global Investors, Goldman Sachs, Jacobs Levy and Intech to run a total of $1 billion in S&P 500 index portfolios, said Herb Dyer, executive director. The $45 billion plan wants to improve the performance of its index portfolio, which was managed internally, said Mr. Dyer. Exact allocations have not been determined, he said. The search was conducted internally.
