Three public pension funds seeking to become lead plaintiff in a federal class-action lawsuit against Global Crossing Inc. are being challenged by an individual investor who claims he lost more money than each of the plans.
Richard Kleinknecht, in a separate lawsuit against Global Crossing, claims he lost $127 million when Global Crossing's stock tanked, according to his attorney, John Halebian. The $112 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany, lost $75 million; and the $50.8 billion Ohio Public Employees Retirement System and $45 billion Ohio State Teachers Retirement System, both in Columbus, lost a combined $115 million, according to SEC filings.
