Kansas City (Mo.) Firefighters Pension System is selecting finalists for a real estate manager to run $15 million in a broad core open-end fund, said Rick Boersma, executive director. A selection is expected by the end of the year, he said. The $300 million pension fund has not had a real estate allocation for six years, but decided to go back into the asset class due to the results of an asset-liability study completed earlier this year, Mr. Boersma said. The funding source has not been determined, he said.
