Nasdaqs SuperMontage will be the death knell for electronic communications networks as execution platforms, according to a new report from Meridien Research. The nine remaining ECNs should change their business models to make them similar to electronic broker-dealers, said Damon Kovelsky, analyst and co-author of the report. Otherwise, ECNs will not be able to compete with the Nasdaq system, he said.
