Wisconsin State Investment Board, Madison, moved $8.32 billion into a Russell 3000 index fund run by Barclays Global Investors, a new investment, said Vicki Hearing, spokeswoman. The $54.8 billion system moved the money from a $6.4 billion S&P 500 index fund, a $1.6 billion Midcap Index fund and a $320 million Russell 2000 index fund, all run by BGI, she said.
System officials wanted to get the fund in line with its equity benchmark, the Russell 3000 index, Ms. Hearing said.
