Colorado Public Employees' Retirement Association, Denver, launched its Targeted Opportunities Program, which will focus on private equity funds capitalized at a maximum of $250 million, according to a news release from the $25 billion system. The program will invest up to $50 million annually in venture capital, leveraged buyouts and special private equity situations, placing an average of $10 million to $15 million per investment, said Kevin Kester, director of alternatives. He expects the plan to choose two funds by January. Alignment Capital Group, consultant for private equity for the new program, is advising.
