Adaptec Inc., Milpitas, Calif., hired Putnam as bundled provider of its $90 million 401(k) plan, said Karen Wiens, senior benefit analyst. Putnam replaced Hewitt as administrator, record keeper and investment adviser, and State Street Bank as trustee; plan officials had selected the plan’s investment options. Ms. Wiens said plan officials wanted a bundled provider. Investment options increased to 16, from 12, she said.
