Milwaukee City Employes Retirement System will decide tomorrow whether it will search for a new manager to run a $67 million active domestic small-cap growth equity portfolio. The $3.9 billion systems investment committee recommended terminating current manager Pilgrim Baxter due to performance, said Anne Bahr, executive director. Ms. Bahr added that the system is not seeking inquiries. Mercer Investment Consulting is the plans consultant. Officials from Pilgrim Baxter could not be reached for comment by press time.
Separately, the systems board will vote on renewing Barclays Global Investors contracts for a $615 million enhanced Russell 1000 index fund and a $322 million passive domestic fixed-income portfolio.
