Lincoln (Neb.) Firemens & Policemens Retirement System invested $8 million in the Calvert Income Fund, a corporate fixed-income mutual fund, said Paul Lutomski, pension officer. Funding comes from selling off a zero-coupon bond portfolio. Officials at the $135 million pension plan think "corporate bonds are a good value, he said. The fund did not use a consultant. Its asset allocation is 30% equity and 70% fixed income.
