SAN FRANCISCO - Clayton Jue was named managing director by Northern Trust Global Investments, Chicago.
Mr. Jue will report to Margaret Towle, chief investment officer for Northern Trust's multimanager business, which focuses on minority-owned and emerging managers, said Kevin J. Rochford, managing director-global sales and client servicing institutional group.
Mr. Jue will focus in particular on coverage of minority and emerging money managers in the Pacific Rim and elsewhere in Asia, Mr. Rochford said.
"Mr. Jue's appointment is part of an expansion of our manager-of-managers effort," Mr. Rochford said. NTGI manages about $17 billion in its multimanager program for institutional investors, up from $13 billion at the end of 1999.
Mr. Jue most recently was chief investment officer of Progress Investment Management, San Francisco, which provides manager-of-managers investment services with a focus on emerging and minority-owned firms.
He was replaced by Donna K. Gliding last year.
Mr. Jue opened a San Francisco office for NTGI and will add research staff over the coming months, Mr. Rochford said.
