The Nature Conservancy, Charlottesville, Va., hired Mellon Global Securities Services as custodian, said John Wood Bolton, director of investments. The $635 million endowment replaced previous custodian Deutsche Asset Management because "they were so far behind in performance measurements and because of all the personnel changes resulting from the acquisition of Bankers Trust,” Mr. Bolton said. "They moved the office that serviced us four times in two years.”
