Mark Blundell was named managing director for the Chicago Mercantile Exchanges European operations. He replaces Roger Jones, who left several months ago, said Ellen G. Resnick, CME spokeswoman. Mr. Blundell will be responsible for promoting the exchange in Europe, including use of the CMEs electronic trading platform, GLOBEX. Mr. Blundell was a founding partner of Swaps.com, a business-to-business, over-the-counter derivative auction platform. Mr. Blundell said Swaps.com folded when the company failed to find a European exchange willing to support its trading activity.
