The Wasatch Micro Cap Growth Equity strategy was the best performing equity strategy offered to institutional investors for the year ended Dec. 31, according to web-based manager tracker InvestorForce. The one-year composite return was 53.5% for the strategy, managed by Wasatch Advisors.
The No. 2 equity performer, also on the small end of the capitalization range, was a small- to micro-cap value approach from Boston Partners Asset Management, which returned 51.3% for the year. The worst performing equity style tracked by InvestorForce was large-cap domestic growth. The best-performing institutional bond strategy was the 29.3% composite return of PIMCOs emerging markets debt strategy.
