United Technologies Corp., Hartford, Conn., added three Deutsche Asset Management equity index funds as options in its $8 billion 401(k) plan, along with investment advice by Financial Engines, said Michelle Frost, benefits manager. Added were a large-cap growth index fund benchmarked to the Russell 1000 Growth, a large-cap value index fund benchmarked to the Russell 1000 Value and a midcap index fund ranging between the S&P 500 and the small company stock index, Ms. Frost said. The plan now offers 19 options, including a company stock option, she said.
The advice was rolled out to employees in November, said Ms. Frost. United Technologies pays for the advice.
