Reps. John Boehner, R-Ohio, and Sam Johnson, R-Texas, today introduced the Pension Security Act, the House version of President Bushs pension proposals. The new legislation would let workers sell company stock after participating in a retirement plan for three years and prevent senior executives from selling company stock during retirement-plan blackout periods. The legislation also would require companies to give workers quarterly statements about their accounts. Another provision would allow employers to offer investment advice to workers through plan service providers and other qualified investment advisers; that was included in a previous bill, sponsored by Mr. Boehner, that passed in the House last year but wasnt approved by the Senate.
