Ohio School Employees Retirement System, Columbus, is searching for an active domestic small-cap value equity manager to run $50 million; the $7.8 billion plan also is looking for an international private equity fund of funds, to which it plans to commit $35 million.
System officials want to diversify the existing lineup of active domestic small-cap equity managers, said Doug Sisson, director of investments. Current managers are: Aronson + Partners; Duncan-Hurst Capital Management; Fuller & Thaler Asset Management; Lord Abbett; and Suffolk Capital Management. Funding for the new small-cap manager will come from reducing allocations to the existing small-cap managers. Frank Russell is assisting.
Both searches are targeted for completion by early spring.
