Helena Chemical Co., Memphis, Tenn., has a shortlist of investment manager and trustee prospects for its $50 million pension fund, said Sherrie Scardino, compensation and benefits manager. Incumbent Mellon Bank has been underperforming for the past two years, she said, but Mellon was asked to rebid. Consultant William M. Mercer will not assist with the hire, but it will advise on investments after a manager is hired.
The plans asset allocation was changed from a 50/50 equity-fixed income split to 60% equity, 40% fixed income, she said.
