Ontario Municipal Employment Retirement System, Toronto, and GE Capital are accepting bids on a 10.5 million-square-foot industrial portfolio co-owned by the C$34 billion (US$21 billion) pension fund and GE Capital. Bids are due Jan. 21, said Jane Courtemanche, OMERS spokeswoman. The system acquired the portfolio of 122 warehouse buildings across Canada with its purchase of 50% of Oxford Properties Group in November, Ms. Courtemanche said. Since the properties dont fit with the real estate strategies of OMERS or GE, they were put on the block. She wouldnt disclose the asking price.
