Roanoke (Va.) City Pension Plan, with $306 million in assets, hired Nicholas-Applegate to manage $9 million in active domestic large-cap growth equities and $9 million in active domestic midcap growth equities, said James D. Grisso, treasurer and finance director. Funding came from reducing an active domestic large-cap value equity portfolio managed by INVESCO, leaving it with $25 million. Fiduciary Capital Advisors assisted.
Separately, Jesse Hall, currently deputy director of finance, was named treasurer and finance director. Mr. Grisso will retire at the end of this month.
