ING Groep plans to integrate the Aetna family of mutual funds into the operations of Pilgrim Funds, pending shareholder approval, according to SEC filings. The Pilgrim Funds, managed by ING Pilgrim Investments, and the Aetna Funds will be renamed the ING Funds. The only planned change to portfolio managers or investment strategy is a proposal to broaden the mandate of the Aetna International Fund to permit greater flexibility in investing in Mexico and Canada. Under the new arrangement, Aeltus becomes the subadviser for all of the Aetna Funds except the Aetna Technology Fund, for which Elijah Asset Management will remain subadviser.
