Kohlberg Kravis Roberts raised $5.1 billion for its Millennium Fund after holding a first closing at $4.95 billion, according to a source familiar with the fund. The source also said there is no deadline for a final closing and that KKR has not set a target amount. The Millennium fund will focus on large corporate leveraged buyouts.
Investors include the $147 billion California Public Employees Retirement System, Sacramento; $112 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund, Albany; $48 billion Washington State Investment Board, Olympia; $42 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund, Salem; and the $20 billion Connecticut Retirement Plans and Trust Funds, Hartford.
