John H. Cochrane, University of Chicago finance professor, and Christian Gollier, economic professor at the University of Toulouse, France, each will receive $15,000 as co-winners of the sixth annual Paul A. Samuelson Award for Outstanding Scholarly Writing on Lifelong Financial Security. TIAA-CREF, which sponsors the award, on Jan. 4 will honor the two for their new books on asset pricing and risk.
Mr. Cochrane is the author of "Asset Pricing. Mr. Gollier, the first non-American to win the Samuelson prize, is the author of "Economics of Risk and Time. He also teaches at the LEcole Polytechnic de Paris.
