Ohio Public Employees Retirement System, Columbus, hired Wellington and Alliance Bernstein to manage $1 billion each in domestic large-cap equities, benchmarked to the Russell 1000 index; and Capital Guardian, Fidelity Management and INVESCO to handle $200 million each in domestic small-cap equities, benchmarked to the Russell 2000 index. Funding will come from the $52.4 billion systems internally managed domestic equity portfolio, according to a written statement from Neil Toth, director of investments.
The system also hired Harris Associates and Nicholas-Applegate to manage $25 million each in international small-cap equities, benchmarked to the MSCI EAFE small-cap index. Funding will come from cash. Also hired were Metropolitan West Asset and Morgan Stanley to manage $600 million each in domestic core-plus fixed-income, benchmarked to the Lehman Universal bond index. Funding will come from cash and the systems internally managed fixed-income portfolio. Further information wasnt available at press time.
