John Owens, director of institutional business development at Aberdeen Asset Management, will leave the firm by the end of this month, said Gary Marshall, head of sales and marketing.
He said Mr. Owens role had been made redundant by recent acquisitions, including the merger with Murray Johnstone, which gave the firm an institutional marketing presence in a number of key areas. He added the firm also was trying to reduce costs.
Some of Mr. Owens responsibilities will be taken over by Stuart Dunbar, head of institutional sales and marketing in the United Kingdom. Mr. Owens could not be reached for comment.
