Chicago Mercantile Exchange plans to establish a charitable foundation to fund disaster relief for victims of Tuesdays terrorist attacks, exchange officials said in a news release. The exchanges executive committee committed $1 million to the foundation, to which CME shareholders, members and staff have been invited to contribute. Further details about the foundation will be forthcoming, according to the release.
Also, UBS AG today said it plans to donate $5 million toward the relief efforts, particularly for families of the victims. The company also is coordinating efforts through relief agencies and emergency personnel in New York.
