Stocks fell today to their lowest levels since early April, with the Dow Jones industrial average dropping below the 10,000 mark, after more negative outlooks from Sun Microsytems and Corning. The Dow closed down 171.32, or 1.71%, to end at 9,919.58; the S&P 500 fell 19.53, or 1.71%, ending at 1,129.03; and the Nasdaq composite closed down 51.57, or 2.8%, at 1,791.6. All numbers are preliminary.
