The Hennessee Group is posting its hedge fund index information free of charge on its website, www.hennesseegroup.com. The indexes had been available only to Bloomberg subscribers or Hennessee Group clients, said E. Lee Hennessee, founder and chairwoman of the hedge fund advisory firm.
Ms. Hennessee said she put the index on the website because she saw a need for an industry benchmark that is a historic index. The Hennessee index, established in 1987, comprises 525 hedge fund managers out of a universe of 3,000 and covers 23 strategies. Each strategy includes year-to-date and monthly performance data.
