Barclays Global Investors on Aug. 17 will launch iShares exchange-traded funds based on the provisional MSCI EAFE index. Steven Schoenfeld, head of international equity management at BGI, said the new iShares "have the potential to be as enthusiastically received as SPDRs or the QQQs. They will trade on the American Stock Exchange.
Investors who want to track the MSCI All Country World index can add iShares based on the MSCI Canada index and the iShares based on four MSCI emerging markets countries indexes, Mr. Schoenfeld said.
