Anne Casscells is stepping down as chief investment officer of Stanford Management Co., which runs the $8 billion endowment of Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif. She will leave at the end of September to join Aetos Capital as managing director in charge of absolute-return funds of funds. Stanford has not named a new CIO, Ms. Casscells said. Instead, a director of investment policy research will be named soon.
Aetos is a newly formed investment management firm that offers both
alternative investment strategies and traditional asset management services. Aetos founder James M. Allwin, president, was head of investment management at Morgan Stanley, including its Miller Anderson & Sherrerd asset
management business.
