Pacific Corporate Group, a private equity consulting firm, terminated Kelly DePonte, a managing director responsible for monitoring partnerships in which the firm invests. Adrienne Gaines, managing director, said the firm doesnt discuss human resource matters; Mr. DePonte did not return calls seeking comment. PCG manages $1 billion in private equity funds of funds for clients such as the $120 billion New York State Common Retirement Fund and the $156 billion California Public Employees Retirement System, and it has another $26 billion in assets under advisement.
Ms. Gaines noted that PCG has restructured, adding 12 managing directors in the last year. Most recently, it hired Scott Vollmer as managing director; he will focus on new offerings. Mr. Vollmer was managing director at Commonfund, where he was responsible for the management of fixed income, leveraged finance and alternative funds. Commonfund spokesman John Griswold said no decision has been made about a replacement.
