Dang T. Phan was hired as a managing partner and COO at Soros Real Estate Partners. He will oversee the Soros Organization’s first real estate fund, which raised $1 billion in commitments, including a 20% investment from George Soros as well as commitments from the $34 billion pension fund of AT&T Corp., Basking Ridge, N.J., and the $56.7 billion pension fund of the State Teachers Retirement System of Ohio, Columbus.
Mr. Phan was COO and CFO at DLJ Real Estate Capital Partners. DLJ merged with Credit Suisse First Boston last year.
