The Institute for Certified Investment Management Consultants and the Investment Management Consultants Association may consolidate as early as January. The boards of directors for the organizations have voted to approve the plan. Now, the membership of ICMA and ICIMC must approve the measure.
Both organizations were founded in the mid-1980s. IMCA and ICIMC members can be classified as Certified Investment Management Analysts and Certified Investment Management Consultants, respectively.
