ADV reports for 6,920 SEC-registered investment advisers will be available online later this month, making it easier for the public to access information now available only at SEC offices, said Jennifer B. McHugh, special counsel, division of investment management, SEC, and project coordinator for the investment advisers registration depository. ADV filings of 1,500 state-registered investment advisers will be available at the same time.
The date of the website launch and its Internet address still havent been disclosed, Ms. McHugh said in an interview, pointing out the website is being stress tested before the opening.
The website is a joint venture of the SEC and the North America Securities Administrators Association. It will be operated by NASD Regulation Inc. There will be a link from the SECs website, www.sec.gov, to the new site.
The SEC adopted a rule last year requiring all ADVs be filed electronically.
