Universities Superannuation Scheme, Liverpool, England, is reviewing the impact climate change might have on the £22 billion ($30.7 billion) plan and the companies in which it invests, said Raj Thamotheram, senior adviser on socially responsible and sustainable investments. "Climate change is now on the political and scientific agenda. We should consider the implications of climate change as there are potential risks and opportunities for institutional investors, he said.
The report and its implications will be discussed by officials at the scheme, other leading U.K. and international pension plans and fund managers at a private seminar in London July 16.
