Barry Gonder, CalPERS senior investment officer in charge of the $20 billion alternatives program, will leave effective July 2 to become a partner at Grove Street Advisors, said Brad Pacheco, CalPERS spokesman. Rick Hayes, senior principal investment officer for alternatives, temporarily will supervise the program at the $155 billion California Public Employees’ Retirement System, Sacramento. No decision has been made about replacing Mr. Gonder or whether a search firm will be hired, Mr. Pacheco said.
