DuPont Capital Management and State Street Global Advisors have formed a joint venture, Wilton Capital Partners, to offer private equity investments. The partnership is in the process of fund raising, said Dan Cahill, a Wilton spokesman. He declined to comment further.
Wilton representatives have made a presentation to consulting firm Callan Associates, said Gary Robertson, head of private markets group at Callan. He said Wilton is establishing a fund of funds. Mr. Robertson said DuPonts track record with private equity is very good and he speculated DuPont wants to take advantage of State Streets marketing muscle. DuPont, which is the asset management wing of E.I. du Pont de Nemours & Co., began managing assets for external clients in 2000.
