Los Angeles County Employees Retirement Association, Pasadena, Calif., is expected to decide in June whether to hire Urban America to manage $30 million in real estate, a new allocation. The hire would be part of the $32 billion funds emerging real estate manager program approved at its last board meeting.
Orange County Employees Retirement System, Santa Ana, Calif., hired Peregrine to manage $150 million in active large-cap growth equities. Funding comes from an equity index fund managed by Barclays Global Investors, where the assets were placed temporarily. Previously, the assets were in a $260 million active large-cap growth equity portfolio managed by STI Capital Management. Callan assisted.
The $4.8 billion board also hired the Townsend Group as its real estate consultant. The other finalist was Pension Consulting Alliance.
