Financial analysts prefer conference calls over investor relations websites for corporate financial disclosure, according to a new survey of 2,000 analysts by the Association for Investment Management and Research. While 42% of respondents rated conference calls as very valuable, only 34% felt the same about corporate websites. Also, only 29% of respondents rated the quality of the strategic/financial information supplied on company websites as good or outstanding; and only 25% said the timeliness of information was good or outstanding. Analysts leading complaints are that corporate websites contain out-of-date or incomplete information, or that information is difficult to find.
