Indiana State Teachers Retirement Fund, Indianapolis, is conducting an asset allocation study with a focus on private equity, said Robert D. Newland, chief investment officer. He speculated the $5.5 billion fund could allocate $250 million, or 5% of the $3 billion employer portion of the fund, to the new area.
Trustees will determine the allocation after evaluating the results of the study and then could search for managers.
Callan Associates is assisting with the study, which the fund hopes to complete this summer.
