The Comprehensive Retirement Security and Pension Reform Act passed the House Ways and Means Committee today by a 35-6 vote. Members of the House Education and the Workforce Committee are expected to vote Thursday on the federal pension law provisions in the bill. The American Benefits Council said it hoped the influential tax-writing committees approval would send the bill on a "quick trajectory toward enactment this year.
