Oklahoma Teachers Retirement System, Oklahoma City, with $6.3 billion in assets, will pick finalists Feb. 28 in its search for one or more active international equity managers to run a total of about $150 million. It plans to hire the managers in April.
Funding comes from a $500 million balanced portfolio managed by Brinson Partners, which was terminated following an asset allocation review. The remaining money from that portfolio will go to three existing active domestic fixed-income managers: $116 million to a portfolio managed by PIMCO, increasing it to $400 million; $116 million to Loomis Sayles, increasing its portfolio to $400 million; and $116 million to Neuberger Berman, increasing its portfolio to $700 million. These mandates will be changed to global fixed income; the additional money will be enough to allow for global investment, said William Puckett, chief investment officer for the system.
