U.S. venture capital funds had a net return of 11.4% for the quarter ended Sept. 30, up from 4.5% for the second quarter, according to Cambridge Associates U.S. Venture Capital index. For the one-year period ended Sept. 30, the net return on venture cap funds was 182.8%, way above the S&P 500s 13.3% or the Nasdaq composites 33.7% for the period. Net return on U.S. private equity funds in the third quarter was -2%, down from -1.2% in the second quarter, according to the Cambridge U.S. Private Equity index. For the one-year period ended Sept. 30, the net return was 22.2%.
