Science Applications International Corp., San Diego, made several changes to the investment lineup offered by its $1.8 billion 401(k), $515 million profit sharing and $1.9 billion stock bonus plans. All three plans offer the same 20 options, including the new options and five of the former 14 options.
The plans added the following funds: Vanguard short-term Lehman Brothers Government/Credit Bond index; Vanguard total bond market Lehman Brothers Aggregate bond index; Vanguard active domestic midcap index, which parallels the S&P Midcap 400 index; Vanguard developed-markets MSCI EAFE index; PIMCO total-return institutional bond; Dodge & Cox stock; T. Rowe Price active domestic midcap value; MAS active domestic midcap growth; Long Leaf Partners active domestic small-cap growth; and Morgan Stanley Dean Witter Institutional emerging markets A active small-cap growth.
They terminated the following funds, all from Vanguard: Windsor; GNMA; short-term federal; intermediate-term corporate; and Wellesley.
The changes were made to offer better diversification for participants, said Patricia Tweedie, manager of retirement programs.
