Among the names circulating in Washington for top pension spots in the Bush administration are two men with ties to Towers Perrin. John Woyke, a principal in the consulting firms Valhalla, N.Y., headquarters is being mentioned as a likely candidate for the executive directors spot at the PBGC. Mr. Woyke said that if he were offered the PBGC spot, he would give it serious consideration. But "as far as I know, my name has not been submitted to anybody, he said.
Bill Sweetnam Jr., a technical consultant at Towers Perrin until January 1998 and majority counsel for pensions to the Senate Finance Committee under Sen. William V. Roth Jr., apparently has expressed his interest in being assistant labor secretary for the PWBA or benefits tax counsel at the U.S. Treasury Department. "Whatever the Bush administration would want to offer me, I would be happy with, said Mr. Sweetnam, who decided to leave the Senate Finance Committee after Mr. Roth lost his re-election bid in November.
