Credit Suisse Asset Management completed the integration of the asset management group of DLJ, acquired earlier this year. The combined entity manages more than $100 billion. Jim McCaughan, CEO of CSAM Americas, heads its management committee, which consists of Larry Smith, global CIO; Elizabeth Dater, head of U.S. post venture/small cap; Moffett Cochran, president of CSAM Americas; Chris Corapi, director of research for CSAM Americas; and Marty Jaffe, CFO for CSAM Americas. Messrs. Cochran and Jaffe are former DLJ executives.
The marketing and client services areas have been reorganized into institutional marketing, including defined contribution plan service and e-commerce, headed by Robert Birnbaum from CSAM; relationship management, primarily serving defined benefit plan clients, headed by George Jamgochian, a new CSAM hire; subadvisory/wholesale channels, headed by John Layng from DLJ; and retail, headed by Gail Eisenkraft from CSAM.
The investment management operations of both entities have been combined and no layoffs are planned, but a restructuring in client service and operations will result in 35 layoffs, said Leslie Mayock, CSAM spokeswoman.
