Saving enough for retirement is the main financial concern of U.S. consumers, according to a recent survey by American Express Retirement Services. Although 44% of those surveyed said adequate retirement is their top financial concern, nearly half said they arent confident they are saving enough.
Overall, people arent saving because of "euphoria stemming from current economic conditions, the survey said. Some 75% of those surveyed reported they see overall economic conditions improving or remaining the same over the next year. Only 15% expressed concern that their own financial situation could deteriorate over the next 12 months.
